Sophia M. Enriquez is a PhD candidate in Ethnomusicology at Ohio State. Her dissertation explores the interactions of Latin-American and Appalachian folk music traditions as well as Latinx identity and migration in the Appalachian region/U.S. South more broadly. Her work makes connections across Appalachian studies, U.S. Latinx studies, critical race studies, migration studies and ethnomusicology. Sophia holds a Graduate Interdisciplinary Specialization in Folklore and a graduate minor in Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies.
