Scott A. Jones, Youth Summer Music Programs Director
Each summer for more than 40 years, Ohio State's School of Music has been a place where young musicians from across the country gather to enrich their musical lives. Even during these extraordinary times, interactions between aspiring young musicians and our faculty continue to be a hallmark of summer months.
Ohio State’s highest priority is the health and well-being of our community, and the university is following public health guidance in all decisions. In honoring that priority, we have created a limited set of YSMP offerings for 2021, most of which are virtual in format. We invite you to explore the 2021 programs and consider making them part of your summer learning.
We look forward to a time in the near future in which the full complement of in-person YSMP offerings will be our reality, and we'll revel in the sights and sounds that time will bring to campus. In the meantime, we are grateful to have the opportunity to connect with bright and curious minds in the ways that honor the well-being of all involved.
We continue to send you our best wishes for strength, patience and resilience during this extraordinary time. Stay close to music!
