Grace Cooper (Lakewood, OH) is a fifth-year Music Education major whose primary instrument is double bass. A member of both the Symphony Orchestra and Women’s Glee Club, she is president of the Ohio State chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) as well as vice president of membership for the Women’s Glee Club. Nick Denino (Grove City, OH) is in his fourth year studying vocal music education at Ohio State. He is involved in many choral ensembles, including Chorale and Men’s Glee Club. Nick is also the acting president of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity. Additionally, Nick is an assistant squad leader and flugelhorn player in The Ohio State University Marching Band. Outside of school, Nick enjoys playing video games, watching football and hockey, and spending time with his friends and family. Contact Nick!
Isabella Gabriel (Pittsburgh, PA) is a third-year vocal performance major. She is a member of Women’s Glee Club and performed with the Opera Theatre at Ohio State. In autumn semester 2021, she had the privilege of performing the role of Sella in Jake Jordan’s Sella the Musical. In spring 2022, Bella served as assistant director and played the role of Denise in the Ohio State Opera Theatre’s production of Sweets by Kate. Bella enjoys performing music that spans many genres, and looks forward to serving as a School of Music Ambassador! Contact Bella!
Sarah Gibson (Tipp City, OH) is a fourth-year Music Education major with a Spanish minor. Her primary instrument is voice, but she also loves playing guitar, ukulele and piano. Sarah is involved in Women's Glee Club, Off the Lake productions, and the Ohio State student chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA). Her favorite performance genre is musical theatre; she loves watching shows as well as being part of them. Contact Sarah!
Andrew Haines (Miamisburg, OH) is a third-year Music Education major. He is a member of the jazz percussion studio and has played in the Latin Jazz Combo, New Orleans/Traditional Swing Combo, and Jazz Lab Big Band. He is also a member of The Ohio State University Marching Band in J row. Andrew is involved with music at Ohio State in many ways, including as a brother in the Eta chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, a National Honorary Band Fraternity; and as a member of the Student Advisory Council for the Marching Band. Ray Johnson (Bainbridge, OH) is a third-year Music Education major whose primary instrument is flute. A member of Symphonic Band, Marching and Athletic Bands, and Flute Troupe, he also serves as treasurer of Ohio State’s chapter of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) as well as publicity chair for the Central Ohio Flute Association (COFA). Ray is also a brother of the Eta Chapter of the National Honorary Band Fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi for which he serves as vice-president of membership. Along with being a School of Music Ambassador, Ray is a member of the Marching Band’s Student Advisory Council and serves on the Summer Session Music Team. Crosbee Lisser (Medina, OH) is a third-year double major in Music Education and Psychology. A member of the horn studio, she has played in Collegiate Winds and The Ohio State Symphonic Band. She is also a member of The Ohio State Marching Band, where she is a squad leader and plays mellophone in E row. Crosbee is involved as a leader by serving as president of both the Undergraduate Music Council and of the Eta chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, a National Honorary Band Fraternity. CJ McGhee (Kettering, OH) is a fourth-year Music Education major at Ohio State. CJ’s primary instrument is the bass trombone which he has played in the Ohio State Wind Symphony, Ohio State Symphony Orchestra, Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and more. Additionally, he served as president of the Buckeye Trombone Association (2021–2022) and is a recipient of the Donald E. and Ruth L. McGinnis Concert Band Award (2022). Louis Maligaya (Mundelein, IL), a third-year clarinet performance major, is a member of the Wind Symphony and Symphony Orchestra. He currently is treasurer of the Clarinetwork Association at Ohio State. In autumn 2020, Louis was selected as one of the winners of the Undergraduate and Master's Concerto Competition and was featured with the Ohio State Symphony Orchestra in March 2021. Louis was also selected as Honorable Mention the AdZel Duo International Clarinet Competition in May 2021. In his free time, Louis loves to cook, play spikeball, and take care of plenty of plants. Tristan Miller (Hilliard, OH) is a third-year Music Education major whose primary instrument is trombone. He is involved in multiple ensembles including Marching Band, Wind Symphony, and Trombone Choir. Tristan is an Eagle Scout and is also an active brother of the music service fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi. Tristan likes to play video games and spend time with friends and family. Jonathan Mitchell (Westerville, OH) is a third-year Music Education student whose primary instrument is flute. He also has experience playing both piano and cello. A member of The Ohio State Wind Symphony, Flute Troupe, a woodwind quintet, and serving as treasurer of the Central Ohio Flute Association (COFA), Jonathan stays active within the School of Music. While his major is in education, he also enjoys performing in both solo and ensemble settings, composing, and acting. He is very grateful that the School of Music allows and encourages him to pursue all his artistic passions, and is more than willing to speak with prospective students who are interested in doing the same. Sophia Rowland (Springfield, OH) is a third-year Music Education student. Her primary instrument is bass trombone, and she is the president of the Buckeye Trombone Association (BTA) for the 2022–2023 academic year. She is involved in Trombone Choir, ensembles at the School of Music, and surrounding pit orchestras. After completing her undergraduate degree, Sophia plans to attend graduate school to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees in trombone, and ultimately to have her own studio. Leigha Schumaker (Toledo, OH) is currently in her third year, where she is a double major in Voice Performance and Music Education. She is involved in Chorale, Women’s Glee Club, and the opera productions at Ohio State. She is also a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, and works for a local church. Charlotte Stefani (Cary, IL) is a third-year Music Education major. Her primary instrument is trombone, which she plays in Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, Trombone Choir, and the Ohio State Marching Band. In addition to these ensembles, she is a member of Tau Beta Sigma and is vice-president of the Buckeye Trombone Association. Coral Varian (Lewis Center, OH) is a third-year Music Education major and flute primary. She serves as vice-president of Membership and head of the Social Committee for Ohio State’s chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, an International Women’s Music Fraternity. Additionally, Coral serves as secretary for the Central Ohio Flute Association (COFA), is an active member of the Ohio State Flute Troupe, and has served as principal chair of Collegiate Winds for two consecutive semesters. Brian Walsh (Stow, OH) is a fourth-year Instrumental Music Education major at The Ohio State University School of Music. He studies horn with Bruce Henniss as a member of the horn studio. He currently performs in both the Ohio State Wind Symphony and Symphony Orchestra, and has performed with the New Albany Symphony Orchestra. Brian is a brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, serving as the Fraternity Education officer. In his free time, Brian enjoys spending time with family and friends, being an avid Cleveland sports fan, and traveling to Disney Parks. Contact Brian!
Jack White (Troy, OH). is a third-year BA student majoring in Music and International Studies with a minor in Korean; his primary instrument is the violin. He is a member of the Ohio State Symphony Orchestra and serves as the chair of recruitment and social events for the university's chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law fraternity. He is also a member of Ohio State's chapter of LiNK (Liberty in North Korea), having served on the executive board, as well as the Coffee Roasting Club, and is employed as a student lead with the university's dining services. He also operates his own business as a private violin instructor in Columbus and frequently performs at various churches and weddings. His favorite composer is Dvořák! Contact Jack!
