Graduate Degree Programs
Admission to the program of study for the MM in voice performance, the MA in vocal pedagogy, and the DMA in voice performance will be determined by a live audition before the members of the vocal performance faculty.
Prior to an invitation to present a live audition, all applicants must upload all required materials with the electronic application. A pre-screen video audition must also be uploaded into the School of Music's portal through GetAcceptd. The application and materials, and the pre-screen audition, must all be completed by November 30. Go to Graduate Students — How to Apply for instructions. You MUST meet this deadline set forth by voice in order to be considered for a live audition. Pre-screen auditions will NOT be reviewed by faculty until you have made application to the university.
This video should last no longer than 15 minutes and should contain repertoire in at least 2 (two) languages that shows your voice and you at your best. The voice faculty will then make a decision whether or not to invite you for a live audition and you will be notified via GetAcceptd when that decision has been made. If you receive an audition invitation, you may then schedule your live audition through GetAcceptd on one of the Voice audition dates listed (Graduate Audition Dates). The voice faculty will not listen to a live audition until all application materials have been submitted. The decision of the faculty is final.
If you are invited to audition live, you must be willing to travel to Columbus, Ohio and present a live audition in front of the faculty in order to be considered for admission. There are NO exceptions to this policy.
Applicants who wish to be considered for a university fellowship must present a live audition by the January date listed in Graduate Auditions.
