In partnership with the Jazz Arts Group of Columbus, the School of Music will host a jazz workshop featuring the Ellis Marsalis Trio — pianist Ellis Marsalis, bassist Will Goble and drummer David Potter.
Marsalis is regarded by many as the premier modern jazz pianist in New Orleans. Former director of Jazz Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University and University of New Orleans, Marsalis is the father of the jazz family dynasty that includes his sons Branford, Wynton, Ellis III, Delfeayo, Miboya and Jason.
The trio will be playing at the Lincoln Theater at 8 p.m. and has graciously offered to visit campus to present a workshop for students at 10 a.m. on the Weigel stage.
This workshop is free and open to the public.
Campus visitors, please use the Ohio Union South Garage. Arps and Ohio Union North garages are closed to visitors before 4 p.m.
