General Policies for the School of Music

(Current policies effective Sept. 1, 2021 are subject to change)

  • Masks are required in all indoor spaces.
  • Masks are required for all musicians (faculty, students, visitors) during all performing activities including classes, rehearsals, coaching, lessons and auditions.
  • Vocal, piano, string and percussion students may use any standard mask. Brass and woodwind students must use modified musician masks.
  • Bell covers for brass instruments are required during all performing activities including classes, rehearsals, coaching, lessons and auditions.
  • When practicing alone in a space, masks and bell covers may be removed temporarily; continuous use is recommended.
