Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Collegiate Winds
Auditions are required for membership in the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Collegiate Winds and Symphony Orchestra winds ( * ). University Band does not require an audition for membership (see Auditions for information regarding University Band). Auditions are open to all students enrolled at The Ohio State University, regardless of major.
If you are a non-music major auditioning for membership in Collegiate Winds (not Symphonic Band or Wind Symphony), please prepare only the Compulsories and the Lyrical Etude in the audition packet. Sight reading will take place at the end of the audition.
Concert band auditions for spring semester 2018 will be held in December in Weigel Hall at 1866 College Road OR in Hughes Hall at 1899 College Road. Audition packets with detailed instructions, the schedule and required musical excerpts for each instrument will be available several weeks prior to audition.
For percussion auditions, non-music majors may schedule an audition time by contacting Dr. Scott Jones at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Packets with instructions and excerpts in [pdf] format will be posted below several weeks prior to auditions. Prepare all material in the packet for your instrument.* You will also be asked to sight read at the audition.

If you cannot audition during the assigned time for your instrument, please contact the band office to request an alternate audition time. We look forward to hearing your audition.
