OSU Chorale and Women's Glee Club Present Joint Concert Nov. 15, 3 pm

The School of Music at Ohio State presents Chorale and Women's Glee Club in a joint concert on Sunday, November 15, 2009, at 3 p.m. in Weigel Auditorium, 1866 College Rd., on campus.
Chorale, a select mixed voice ensemble, offers songs of praise, meditation, and dance including:
"O let the nations be glad" by Randall Thompson, the most prominent choral composer of the 20th century and "Psalm 100" by Heinrich Schutz.
"Ubi caritas," a work by a fast-rising young Norwegian composer, Ola Gjielo, premiered at the 2007 American Choral Directors Association.
Two tango dancers, Yuval DaYa and Elizabeth Cuzma will be featured in a performance of "Tango for Evora" by Loreena McKennitt, arr. Jon Washburn.. Alexandru Pascanu's "Chindia," based on a Rumanian folk dance, concludes the program.
On April 17, 2010, Chorale will sing at Carnegie Hall, in a concert that also will includes performances by two select high school choral ensembles and one college choir.
The Women's Glee Club, conducted by Richard Schnipke, will perform a varied program, including two Mexican folk songs, 18th century English composer William Boyce's "Alleluia," and "Caroline Million" from American composer Irving Fine's "The Choral New Yorker."
