Russel C. Mikkelson, director of bands, will conduct the final movement of Rachmaninoff’s exciting Symphonic Dances, opus 45; John Mackey’s gorgeous Hymn to a Blue Hour; Makris' Aegean Festival and Frank Ticheli’s Rest.
Guest conductor Todd Fessler opens the concert with Spanish composer Oscar Navarro’s fiery Downey Overture; Onsby C. Rose will lead the ensemble in Aaron Copland’s classic, An Outdoor Overture. Mr. Fessler is a master's conducting associate and Mr. Rose, a doctoral conducting associate.
