Listeners can experience it at 101.1 FM at wosu.org.Requiem by Giuseppe Verdi was first performed in 1874. Arguably the most frequently performed major choral work composed since the compilation on Mozart’s Requiem, Verdi’s setting of the Catholic funeral Mass has been referred to as both a tour de force oratorio and an opera in ecclesiastical robes. Featuring the Symphony Orchestra, Chorale, Symphonic Choir, and combined glee clubs. Marshall Haddock, conductor. Soloists included Chelsea Hart, soprano; Katherine Rohrer, mezzo-soprano; C. Andrew Blosser, tenor and Jaman E. Dunn, bass. A pre-concert talk was given by James Naumann at 2:30. Mr. Naumann is a PhD student in musicology.
