This concert is presented in association with Ohio State’s Parent and Family Weekend, which offers many specially planned events and activities for students and families. Selections by Gershwin, Beethoven, Yin, McGlynn, Todenhoft, Gibbons, Cichy, Beiderbeck, Armstrong and Santamaria/Keith.
Performers include DMA Clarinet Quartet members Melody Baker, Zachary Dierickx, Manchusa Loungsangroong, Evan Lynch; Liguang Zhou, piano soloist; The Statesmen a cappella group from Men's Glee Club; Saxophone Quartet members Jordan Reed, Colin Wood, Alec Priest, Chad Sandlin; Flute Troupe, Katherine Borst Jones, director.
Also participating are two groups from Jazz Studies. Latin Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Kris Keith, includes Jaz Bluhm, flute; Armand Wimberly, violin; Danny Flax, trumpet; Gaurav Shastri, tenor sax; Ben Cowder, trombone; Cole Biedenharn, guitar; Benjamin Sperl, piano; Conner Nagel, bass; Daniel Seibert, drum set; Roland Hatcher, congas. The Traditional Swing/New Orleans combo, directed by Jim Masters, includes Will Walters, tenor sax; Scott Cupito, clarinet; Troy Turner, trumpet; Josh Michal, trombone; Mason Illig, bass trombone; Max Mulready, piano; Alex Blumenthaler, bass; Ben Janesch and Brooklyn Young, drums.
