Come get your Halloween on early this year with the Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Kristopher Keith. You will hear a wide range of musical selections including Pat Metheny's passionate piece "The Awakening" arranged by the legendary Bob Curnow; Thad Jones' classic "Tip Toe" (from the groundbreaking recording with Mel Lewis on drums, Consummation); an early, rarely-heard arrangement of the classic jazz standard "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" by Ohio State alumnus Vince Mendoza; and Radiohead's "Bodysnatchers" arranged by the unforgettable Fred Sturm.
Sitting in with the Ohio State Jazz Ensemble for the first time is Anthony Stanco, who was recently appointed to the School of Music as instructor of jazz trumpet, theory, and composition. An additional surprise guest is lined up to appear as well. Join us!
