Faculty Collage Concert*

Ohio State's School of Music presents its annual Faculty Collage Concert on Monday, October 5 at 8 p.m. in Weigel Auditorium, 1866 College Rd., on campus.

This annual concert features a diverse array of music for strings, brass, percussion, winds and more-all showcasing members of the School of Music faculty in a "collage" setting, a fast-paced format with no applause between works.

Tickets are available at the door. Tickets are $12 general admission; $6 senior citizens and students with ID.

The solo violin recital will be the 1st in a series of 6 recitals consisting of the complete J.S. Bach's 6 Solo Sonatas and Partitas, Paganini's 24 Caprices, and Eugene Ysaye's 6 Sonatas. These monumental series composed a century apart (1720, 1819 and 1924 respectively) are considered the pinnacle of solo violin composition and performance. Each recital will also include a major contemporary work - the Oct. 12 recital features Bacewicz's last set of 4 Caprices (1968).

The Ohio State University School of Music presents guest artist Robert Satterlee, in a concert on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 8 p.m. in Weigel Auditorium, 1866 College Rd, on campus. 

Satterlee, a pianist and faculty member at Bowling Green State, has a reputation as a versatile soloist and chamber musician. His concert program features Liszt's "Sonata in B Minor," and music by Mozart, Chopin, and William Albright.

Andy Woodson, jazz bass and Mark Flugge, piano, well-known on the Columbus jazz scene, present a concert on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 8 p.m. in Weigel Auditorium, 1866 College Rd., on campus.

The program includes jazz standards such as "Never Let Me Go," "Evidence," and 'Blood Count" as well as original compositions.

The Ohio State University School of Music presents soprano and alumna Maya Krivchenia and pianist Edward Bak, an OSU faculty member, in an evening of Russian song, on Monday, October 26 at 8 p.m. in Weigel Auditorium, 1866 College Rd., on campus. 

Krivchenia was born in Russia but grew up in Ohio. She completed an undergraduate degree from the Eastman School of Music in 2003. She then pursued a master's degree in vocal performance at Ohio State's School of Music, graduating in 2006.

HalleBOOia!, the Ohio State School of Music's traditional Halloween concert , is set for Friday, October 30, 2009 at 8 p.m. in Weigel Auditorium, 1866 College Rd., on campus.
 
Celebrating its 15th year, HalleBOOia! has become a traditional favorite, with audience members invited to come in Halloween costumes and performers doing the same. The program was started in 1994 by the Chorale and then expanded to include additional performing groups.
