Funding Opportunities

University Fellowships

These highly competitive awards are made by the Graduate School to outstanding graduate students. Criteria include all admissions materials, including transcripts of previous coursework, Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores, letters of recommendation submitted on academic or business letterhead, autobiographical statement, and recommendations from the School of Music. Although music performace and pedagogy are not required to take the GRE for admission to the program, they are encouraged to take the General Test (verbal, quantitative, analytical) if they wish to be considered for a University Fellowship. Music pedagogy majors who wish to be considered for a Fellowship are required to submit GRE scores. Priority for funding will be given to qualified domestic applicants whose completed application and supporting materials are received January 15 and qualified international applicants whose application and supporting materials are received by November 30.
