Piano

Students seeking degrees in piano performance engage in intensive learning experiences that encourage exploration of a wide range of solo and chamber literature as well as works for piano and orchestra. They prepare an extensive amount of repertoire during their time with OSU piano professors, all of whom are highly respected artists.

Piano professors at Ohio State are active recitalists and chamber music performers. They are heard frequently throughout the country and in international venues such as Korea, New Zealand and Vienna.

Graduate teaching associate positions are available in accompanying plus applied and class piano teaching. Pianists are offered significant opportunities in collaborative arts, working with vocal and instrumental music majors as well as chamber, choral, orchestral and band performing groups. They are provided a core of dedicated practice facilities designated specifically for the piano major.
