Note: Due to the Columbus Marathon on October 21, McGinnis Celebration attendees should enter the Arps parking garage from High Street as opposed to College Road. High Street will be open by noon.
Dr. Donald E. McGinnis, Director of Bands Emeritus and cherished OSU Faculty Member from 1941-1981, will be honored with a special 90th birthday celebration by the OSU School of Music. The celebration will feature a performance by the OSU Wind Symphony and distinguished guest artists.

Concert Band Alumni interested in performing Buckeye Ballad at the end of the concert under the direction of Dr. McGinnis (with no rehearsal) must bring their own instruments. (Unfortunately, loaner instruments are not available.) Please
so we can have music, chairs and stands available.
Flutists (Meditation on Thais) and clarinetists (Etude Caprice) interested in performing section features with the Wind Symphony should email Katherine Borst Jones. Music will be available on the OSU band website: http://bands.osu.edu/News-article11.html. We will rehearse at 1:30 p.m. on October 21 in Weigel Auditorium.
Donations will also be accepted for the Donald E. McGinnis Concert Band Scholarship Fund (#604686). Make checks payable to the OSU School of Music.
